Lake Como Luxury Jewellery: From Nine Goals to Timeless Style

Some names evoke both a destination and a way of life. Como is one of them. It brings to mind water framed by mountains, lakeside villas, grand hotel terraces and the pleasure of an Italian escape.

Since 4 November 2026, it also recalls an extraordinary football night: Como’s 9–1 away victory against Lens in the Champions League.

That result offers a fresh perspective on Como: a football city, an international travel destination and the inspiration for a piece of jewellery to treasure long after the journey ends.

Como’s Nine Goals: A Historic Champions League Night

Cesc Fàbregas’s side won 9–1 in France, led by a Tasos Douvikas hat-trick. It was an exceptional evening for the club and its supporters.

The record deserves a precise explanation: no team had previously scored nine goals away from home in the modern Champions League. Como recorded the competition’s biggest away win and equalled its largest overall winning margin of eight goals. Nine goals in a single match had been achieved before, when Bayern Munich beat Dinamo Zagreb 9–2 in 2024.

Como’s name now belongs to a memorable European football story, carrying with it the identity of a destination many international travellers already know and love.

Lake Como: The Appeal of Italian Luxury

Lake Como has a distinctive visual language: waterfront gardens, historic residences and views that change with every turn of a boat journey. Properties such as Villa d’Este in Cernobbio and Grand Hotel Tremezzo contribute to its international reputation as a luxury destination.

For visitors, the most memorable moments may lie in the details: breakfast overlooking the lake, a walk through Bellagio, the quiet of a terrace at sunset or a leisurely lunch with a view.

This is an expression of elegance shaped by time, beauty and personal taste. It can remain with you long after you return home.

One Name, Many Personal Stories

For a football supporter, COMO can represent belonging and sporting pride. For a couple, it may recall a lakeside anniversary. For an international visitor, it can hold the memory of a holiday in Italy.

The same name can carry many different emotions. This is where jewellery connects with a place: a precious piece becomes a personal reminder of an experience, chosen for the story it tells its wearer.

That idea lies behind the COMO jewellery concept by CIRCUITI GIOIELLI, created by Italian goldsmith and designer Gianfranco Quartaroli.

18ct White Gold, Diamonds and Blue Sapphires

The proposed design pairs a pendant with a coordinating bracelet in 18ct white gold, set with white diamonds and blue sapphires.

Two footballs replace the O letters in COMO: one set with diamonds, the other with blue sapphires. Polished white gold C and M letters complete the composition.

The football connection is immediately recognisable, while the colours invite a wider interpretation. In the designer’s vision, the blue sapphires evoke the depth of the lake, and the diamonds suggest light reflected on its surface.

White and blue bring sporting passion together with the beauty of Lake Como.

The COMO Tennis Bracelet and Matching Pendant

The bracelet features the central COMO motif between two tennis-style rows: one of diamonds and one of blue sapphires. The gemstones continue around the wrist, creating a design with a clear visual identity.

The matching pendant carries the same motif on a delicate chain attached at either end.

Both designs can be imagined as a meaningful gift for someone who loves Como, a keepsake from a special holiday or a present marking an anniversary. Their significance comes from the connection between the design and the wearer’s own story.

For travellers seeking Lake Como-inspired jewellery, the concept offers a way to carry the name of a much-loved destination beyond the holiday itself.

The images illustrate a design concept. Final dimensions, gold weight, gemstone carat weights and any customisation are agreed during the quotation and production process.

Gianfranco Quartaroli: Jewellery with a Sense of Place

An Italian goldsmith, jewellery designer and former footballer, Gianfranco Quartaroli brings an understanding of sporting symbols and personal storytelling to the project.

With COMO, the football motif meets the brilliance of gemstones, placing the city’s name at the centre of the design. The concept speaks to football lovers, admirers of Lake Como’s elegance and travellers looking for a precious reminder of their Italian journey.
